MARIN MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art
Mexican Sugar Skulls: History and Creation
Instructor: Diego Marcial Rios
The workshop will begin with an historical summary of the history and origin of Mexican Sugar Skulls.
There will then be a demonstration on how to create your own sugar skulls at home. You will learn the ingredients/recipes for creating sugar skulls and application techniques necessary to decorate them.
Then, roll up your sleeves to create and hand paint your own unique, expressive work. Let your imagination run wild, while you personalize your own sugar skull.
Premade sugar skulls and all decorations will be provided for this workshop.
