CARPAZINE

The history of Arte XXX, the newest contemporary art gallery of Brasilia (Brazil), is linked with the career of Rogério Carvalho. With a degree in architecture and urban planning, he worked for more than a decade with modern architecture restoration. Among other works, he collaborated directly in the restoration of the president’s official residence, the Alvorada Palace, and the adjacent chapel, of the Presidential Planalto Palace, and of the church of Our Lady of Fatima, all located in Brasilia. At the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN), as national manager, he worked daily on issues related to protected mobile and integrated assets belonging to the Federal Union. He coordinated the inventories of the Foreign Affairs Itamaraty Palace and the Alvorada Palace. He was curator of the Alvorada and Planalto Palaces from 2009 to 2015. Thus, taking advantage of his background and expertise that his personal collection has given him over the last 17 years, he decided to devote himself to creating a gallery and auction office with a focus on contemporary art. However, previous periods will also be covered. The venue will also exhibit erotic art and is one of the few galleries in the country dedicated to the public that consumes this type of work. For the auctions, Rogério Carvalho intends to bring high quality art to the Midwest, providing to customers access to the very best.
